WHY A PERSON SHOULD GO FOR TREKKING…….?
“TO WALK INTO NATURE, IS TO WITNESS THOUSANDS OF MIRACLES.”
Is a powerful and encouraging quote given by Mary Davis. I think that no other reason will be more emphasizing than this because nothing can be compared with the satisfaction that one gets from travelling and the time spent with the nature. The wilderness and the beauty of the nature is the refreshment that anyone will enjoy, that too with bag packs is amazing.
From quiet moments to invigorating sights, trekking is the best way to explore, experience and enjoy the beauty of nature, while challenging it.
This is not all, that one gains while trekking. So here are some reasons because of which any person would get influenced to for a trekking trip………..:-
1. INNER HAPPINESS
A mere word of holiday, after a strenuous working day, brings such a thrill in our body, as if we have been given a month vacation. So in such a scenario, if one gets the opportunity to explore and enjoy nature and its beauty, then that would definitely take away negativity and stress out of our mind. Trekking is like walking in heaven and opening oneself fully to the nature. It is one of the best way to reduce anxiety and boredom leading him to the immense happiness and peace of mind. Recently, I came across the out of the dictionary definition of trekking, which according to me is absolutely true. It says:
“Trekking is similar to the meditation. When you climb up to a mountain peak, it somehow calms you down. You are yourself for that brief moment and there is no other feeling that can match the calmness and nearness to oneself.”
Scientific researches show that adventure sports like hiking and trekking have a result oriented therapeutic effects to overcome depression. It provides mental calmness and relaxation filled with positivity.
2. PHYSICAL BENEFITS
As soon as one books a trekking trip, the sub-conscious mind starts thinking about the altitude that one is going to face, high peaks, long travelling distances and what not..!whereas on the contrary, our conscious mind stars planning and body starts working out, in order to build up stamina, muscles and bones before the embark.
Regular trekking can increase the cardiovascular strength as our heart has to pump harder, in order to keep up with the oxygen demand while trekking. In addition to it, breathing in the fresh air and pure oxygen keeps the respiratory system clean. It is also a fantastic way to lose weight. While trekking one can burn up to 600 calories per hour, that one can’t, after an hour of strenuous workout in a gym.
3. SOCIAL BENEFITS
As we are very well versed that trekking alone is dangerous and a boring idea that one can think. Hence, trekking is a group activity, where we trek for a couple of days with the people coming from different backgrounds and totally strange to us. While trekking we build a memorable bond with them that stays with us throughout the life.
A wise man has truly said,
“THERE IS NO BETTER EXERCISE FOR THE HEART THEN REACHING DOWN AND HELPING TO LIFT SOMEONE UP.”
Trekking help us to develop team spirit that help us to act in cooperation with other people. While trekking one will not in position to use social media and absence of your family and friends will lead one to make life long memorable friends, who alone will be the company on that high peak.
4. FEELING OF GIVING
A trekking trip alone can generate lots of income for the locals, which directly assist them to make a living and empower their families.
A country like Nepal, which is just rising from the devastating Earthquake, for them trekking brings a lots hopes and smiles on the faces of the people. A feeling of seeing someone happy, being a porter, a guide or the local vendors, brings the immense satisfaction that is inexpressible in words.
5. CULTURAL AND WILDLIFE ENCOUNTERS
Whether you are trekking past sacred aboriginal sites, past ancient rock paintings that are thousands of year old, or visiting destinations rich with aboriginal and historical facts, there is always an opportunity for trekking to gain insight into the history, lifestyle and food habits of different culture of a land.
While trekking many trekkers encounter the sight of wombats crossing the trail ahead, wedge tailed eagles flying above and pad melons hopping around the campsites as the sun sets. These sights are not only appealing but force you to go for such a camp. Now days such sights are on of the many highlights of a trekking trip.
Now concluding, I would like to say popular line by John Muir, which says,
“IN EVERY WALK WITH NATURE, ONE RECIEVES FAR MORE THAN HE SEEKS.”
